County Salutes Its 42K Volunteers

They provide valuable service for one very low cost – free! During fiscal year 2014-15, 41,772 residents gave their time to the County of San Diego, resulting in an estimated value of nearly $44.5 million. That’s a lot of volunteering and a lot of money saved!

County volunteers helped out in departments ranging from Animal Services to Libraries to Parks and Rec to the Sheriff’s Department. On Tuesday, April 12, they were recognized at a special ceremony at the County Administration Center, prior to the Board of Supervisors meeting.
