The California State Association of Governments has posted a new video hightlighting San Diego County’s award-winning Justice Electronic Library System (JELS).  The program has won a 2012 CSAC Challenge Award and a National Association of Counties award.

The paperless system puts the documents into an e-File system and completely automates all documents used by probation, law enforcement and outside parties for Juvenile Court Delinquency hearings.

The system has saved the County thousands of dollars a year for staffing costs across three agencies. Additionally, attorneys have seen a 25 percent savings in time spent per case and a 50 percent increase in support staff productivity.
