The San Diego County Library’s popular Acoustic Showcase series begins its summer round of free concerts Sunday, June 3.
The series brings local musicians and talent to San Diego’s libraries, exposing them to new audiences. Seven concerts are taking place throughout June at various County Library branches.
The Acoustic Showcase schedule for June includes:
John Foltz, pop/folk/rock: June 3, 2 p.m., Fallbrook Library, 124 S Mission Rd
Gone Tomorrow, bluegrass: June 5, 6:30 p.m., Rancho San Diego Library, 11555 Via Rancho San Diego
Mair Rathburn vocalist/harpist: June 9, 2 p.m., Poway Library, 13137 Poway Rd
The Yes Team, described as Jason Mraz meets Peter, Paul & Mary: June 10, 2 p.m., El Cajon Library, 201 E Douglas Ave
Nena Anderson, Americana/jazz/alt. country: June 13, 6 p.m., Encinitas Library, 540 Cornish Dr
The Yes Team: June 16, 12 p.m., Casa de Oro Library, 9805 Campo Rd #180
Mair Rathburn: June 28, 2 p.m., Solana Beach Library, 157 Stevens Ave
“Music crosses all barriers and brings people together, building community in the process,” said Library Director José Aponte. “People don’t need to live in metropolitan San Diego to experience quality, local music. It’s right here at the library – and there’s no cover charge.”
Since the music series began in April 2010, more than 100 concerts have been held at 23 different libraries with over 5,000 customers in attendance.
