Are we seeing tiny glimmers of hope that the economy is improving? Or must we still guard against more losses, be it jobs, homes, nest eggs and more?

Find out what local economic experts have to say about the prospects for 2012 at the 28th Annual San Diego County Economic Roundtable at the University of San Diego Thursday, January 19. It’s sure to be a lively session as they look at changing market conditions, the real estate market and the employment outlook.

“The economy affects everyone,” said Ron Roberts, Chairman of the County Board of Supervisors. “While no one has a crystal ball, the panelists are all specialists in their fields and can provide valuable insight on what to expect this year.”

The Roundtable is the region’s longest-running free economic forecasting event and attracts hundreds of visitors. It will take place at University of San Diego Joan B. Kroc Institute for Peace & Justice at 5998 Alcala Park in San Diego. Registration begins at 8:00 a.m. and the event itself runs from 8:30 a.m. to noon. The public is welcome but seating is limited so an RSVP is required.

Chairman Ron Roberts, USD School of Business Administration Dean David Pyke and U-T San Diego Editor Jeff Light will give opening remarks. The moderators will be U-T San Diego Business Editor Diana McCabe and U-T San Diego Staff Writer Roger Showley, with special guest U-T San Diego Business Columnist Dean Calbreath leading the question and answer session.
